![]() There are so many different flavours of horror, too whether you’re playing hide and seek with horrific creatures gnashing for your blood, or murdering your chums while wearing a hockey mask and wielding a rusty chainsaw, this collection of the best horror games has something for everyone. They need to challenge your perceptions of what you thought was reasonable, and safe. They need to get under your skin, and bury themselves deep in your head. ![]() They need to be the sort of games that are so intrinsically scary that you think about them for days. The ability for a writer to use these stylistic techniques allows them to convey their message more appropriately and increase the engagement of their audience. If you’re going to invest in a horror game then make sure it’s one that goes bump in the night. Last time I check, Australia does not have unlimited amounts of computers neither.Īfter reading this article and several more since then, I have noticed that tropes and schemes are everywhere. For example, the writer states “The new bill also allows ASIO to seek just one warrant to access a limitless number of computers.” The writer attempts to make the point that with just one warrant government officials have access to as many computers as the need to complete their mission however instead of saying so he exaggerates the topic by stating that government officials have access to unlimited computers no matter the circumstance. Since this article’s point is to convince the reader that this legislation is a terrible law, the writer attempts to over-exaggerate many details. The third form of style that is found throughout this article is the usage of hyperboles. The writer states, “It’s happening right before our eyes, in federal Parliament, on national television, on the front of our daily newspapers.” Had this sentence only included two out of the three subjects, then it may have sounded a bit off. Although this writer is not American, the usage of a list ofthree in the English language is a known regulation that many writers abide by. ![]() The second stylist scheme that is found in, “Abbott’s ‘Anti-Terror’ Laws Are The Real Danger To Australia” is parallelism. By saying that the parliament is preparing to vote on something that has not been seen, suggests that the government officials will vote one way no matter what the legislation may say. The first trope that is seen can be found in the very first sentence of the article, “As the Parliament prepares to vote on yet unseen legislation, the damage to our freedoms will outlast the current terror hysteria.” The writer uses irony to convey his message. In this blog post I will identify the numerous tropes and schemes that occur throughout this randomly selected article. However, it did bring up an interesting article about Australia’s government attempting to pass a legislation that would allow government officials to monitor its citizen’s online activity. Unfortunately, the article did not cover the rumors of Tim Cook’s affiliation with ISIS. For this blog post, I decided to randomly select two topics off the top of my head, enter them into the Google search bar and click “I’m feeling lucky.” The two topics were bending iPhones and terrorism.
